Ring-Tailed Lemur – Island Native

A primate found living in social groups – called a troop – and native to the island of Madagascar. Their distinctive markings of 13 alternating black and white bands on their long tail are covered in smelly secretions during mating season as males engage in “stink battles.” Unlike many primates, however, they cannot use their tails to grab or hold items.

Here is a pencil sketch of the popular Ring-Tailed Lemur.
